One of the Isle of Lewis’s most popular island community events has received a boost this week, thanks to monies from local wind farm developers Lewis Wind Power.
The Lochs Show, which is the biggest of its kind in the Western Isles, takes place each year in Laxay and is organised by the Lochs Agricultural Society.
Lewis Wind Power, developers of Stornoway wind farm, have supported the Lochs Show for a number of years, and are once again delighted to be providing sponsorship for the show, which takes place on 22 July 2023.
This year the event will be officially opened by The Hebridean Baker with a range of activities for all ages – from face painting and stunts to pipe bands and Highland dancing.
Darren Cuming of Lewis Wind Power: “The Lochs Show provides such a great day out for all the family and brings the community together. It is a valuable event for the local economy and we are once again proud to be supporting the Show. We wish the organisers all the best for the day.”
A spokesperson for the Lochs Show commented: “The Show Committee greatly value Lewis Wind Power’s continued support. Our gratitude, for the comfort of knowing that its sponsorship helps to provide a wide-ranging mix of attractions on the day, cannot be overstated.”
